Tim Struby is a New York City-based sports journalist. While a longtime contributor at ESPN The Magazine, his stories have also appeared in New York, Details, Maxim, The New Yorker, Men’s Journal, Men’s Fitness, Playboy, Victory Journal, Maxim, and Outside.

    

Struby has earned multiple awards from the Boxing Writers Association of America and his recent story Name of the Father (Victory Journal) was selected for The Best American Sports Writing 2018 anthology.

 

In addition to non-fiction, Struby has become a notable voice in podcasting. He co-created and hosted Race Relations, a cutting-edge program addressing the issues of race in America, guest hosted an episode of the hit series Crimetown (based on his Name of the Father article) and served as the primary correspondent for The Podium, NBC’s official podcast of the 2018 Winter Olympics

 

When he’s not writing, playing tennis or on the road, Struby can be found on his stoop with a transistor radio listening to his beloved New York Mets.
